Somebody told me that when we apply for CaRMS, we can only mention/write down activitices (research, publications, etc) that we undertook after starting med school.

Is this true? So a person who finsihed a PhD in the field of Cardiac Surgery before starting med school cannot have this experiences recognized for residency match in Cardiac Surgery?
