Once I am done with my 4 years of Medschool, I am still not a doctor, right? After that is the Residency part, and then I am a general practitioner? or do I specialize in something while in Residency and then I am, say an ophthalmologist if that's what I choose to specialize in? I am soooo confused! As we all know, there are a LOT of pre-med hopefuls out there. The majority probably have stellar GPA's and MCAT scores, if they've taken it. On top of that, many are volunteering and getting involved with extracirriculars. I was just wondering if anyone out there could shed some light on their experiences with either course.

I'm having a lot of difficulty deciding btwn the two.

I was told that Kaplan offered more material but Princeton had more structure. Thoughts?

I will be relocating to Ontario this fall from the U.S. (immigrating). And I am absolutely clueless where to take my pre-reqs. I am looking to pick up Gen Chem and Physics. I realize that there are major universities where I can take the classes. But are there other options like community colleges or other post-graduate programs that are better suited for a mature applicant with kids? I will be moving either to Toronto or Windsor. I have never worked a day in my life and thus I have no references =/

I have applied to a couple of hospitals putting relatives as my references and I have not heard back (this was done about a year ago).

Does anyone know of anything that I can do?
My current schoolterm (first-year undergrad) is over and my average is in the mid 70's... =/ and I need something to do for the next 4 months...

I had a few basic queries regarding medical school in Canada. Firstly, I admit I have not gone through the vast topics already at hand I went through a fraction of them and was constantly absorbed into reading, more and more , not pertaining to the topic at hand !  . I am seriously considering going to medical school, and I have looked up the requirements for GPA and courses for the major Ontario med schools. I will have the required physics, chem, bio etc and I anticipate my GPA will be roughly 3.9 or so.

All of the schools point out on their websites that major of study is not considered. I was wondering whether this is REALLY true.

Are there any grad applicants who have done more than one cycle of applications? I'm waiting for response at UofT and Queen's, and I'm wondering if anyone knows typically when Queen's sends grad applicants invitations/rejections for interview? Their first interview weekend is in very early March - do grad students typically get invited to that first one?

I just wanted to know how many nurses turned doctors exist out there. I'm in my 4th year and I am thinking about applying to medical school next year.

Are nurses given equal consideration in the application process? I also would like to know how any nurses did on their MCATs? How did you find the test?

Sometimes I feel a little guilty applying to medical school; like I'm a traitor or something.
